New Work I have been working on a series called Circles and Seeds for the last six months. Several years ago, I painted an abstract oil on canvas called the "Seed is Planted". This year the crop is coming in. So far, I have painted about eight images in the series. Here are a few of them. I have been interested in symbols for a long time. These explore the imagery of the circle. They represent a sense of fullness and completion. The colors are bright and cheerful with lots of metallics- gold, copper, graphite. I am thoroughly enjoying this direction toward a pure abstract art. |

My other recent work is about Hawaiian petroglyphs. These are
also painted on canvas with metallics and bright colors. They are based on
the Hawaiian rock carvings that I have spent the last fifteen years making as
graphic prints. |
